Charity Consultant, Catch Impact


Freelance charity consultant specialising in social research and impact measurement across a range of sectors including mental health, homelessness, criminal justice, learning disability, sensory loss and health. Supporting organisations to develop strategy, social impact measurement frameworks and data collection systems. Conducting primary research through surveys, focus groups, interviews and analysis of qualitative and quantitative data sets.

Recent projects include:
• Supporting Mind to develop their Workplace Wellbeing Index, including analysing large datasets and writing client reports.
• Building an app for Action on Hearing Loss to capture the social and economic impact of their local hearing aid services.
• Developing theories of change with organisations such as St John Ambulance, British Heart Foundation National Centre, the Richmond Group and Big Society Capital.
• Creating outcomes measurement frameworks with organisations including The Health Research Board, Nafsiyat Intercultural Therapy Centre, The Bike Project and Changing Tunes.
• Conducting research and evaluation with clients including MS Society, Mind, Superhighways, and Connection at St-Martin-in-the-fields.

Before becoming a freelancer, I worked as a consultant for New Philanthropy Capital (NPC) – a charity think-tank and consultancy specialising in social impact measurement. In this role I managed a range of research, measurement and evaluation projects with clients including the Youth Justice Board, Prince’s Regeneration Trust and the Heritage Lottery Fund. I also co-authored NPC’s Practical Guide to Creating your Theory of Change and managed the Inspiring Impact Programme.

I am also a consultant for Lloyds Bank Foundation providing social impact support to charities as part of their small grants scheme.
