Newcastle United Foundation

Newcastle United Foundation's Annual Review for 2016/17 showcases the diverse community we work with. We are successful in engaging people in our projects, over 54,000 children, young people and families per year, and wanted to have the same engaging impact on people receiving our Annual Review.

We wanted to use the nostalgic concept of the football sticker book to make an interactive experience for the reader. We also wanted to connect our printed material with digital and video content, so for the first time we also made use of augmented reality to link the Annual Review to a film about our latest project. The cover acts as a ‘trigger image’ and the cover ‘coming alive’ tells the reader about our capital appeal to build Project Pitchside, a community hub adjacent to St. James' Park.

This adds an extra interactive element to the design. This has helped us spread the word outside the region about our vision and also helped secure meetings to discuss possible funding.
