CHRIS TARRANT

The Stroke Association

Chris Tarrant became a high profile supporter of the Stroke Association in 2015 and is now so fully committed that we often joke we should put him on the payroll. He is quite simply one of the family. Chris had a stroke in 2014 and he describes it as the 'single most terrifying experience of his life.' His recovery involved intensive rehabilitation. It is Chris's everyman relatability which has enabled him to become such a valuable ambassador for our charity. He displays such empathy with fellow stroke survivors and through telling his own moving story, allows us to shine a spotlight upon the people we support. Stroke is an illness which is often misunderstood, down played or even ignored. Having an ambassador as well-known and well liked as Chris allows us to translate one of our most important key messages if a stroke can happen to him, it really can happen to anybody.
