Breast Cancer Now - New identity for two merged organisations

Breast Cancer Now and The Clearing

Breakthrough Breast Cancer and Breast Cancer Campaign decided to merge in November 2014. It was clear to both organisations that creating one powerful brand was essential in our shared ambition to stop women dying of breast cancer.

The Clearing brand consultancy helped us to create Breast Cancer Now. The brand had to unite both organisations, connect with supporters and scientists, reach new audiences and partners, and allow us to lead the debate about breast cancer. They developed a new name, brand positioning, visual identity and tone of voice.

One year after launch, the two charities are united by their commitment to the new, stronger brand. Our supporter numbers have doubled, our social media figures have increased significantly, and we’ve attracted new corporate partners including Marks & Spencer and Metro Newspaper. Every mainstream political party got behind our 2050 Challenge campaign, with 200 MPs in England and 18 Welsh Assembly members pledging to be a Breast Cancer Now ambassador. We know that 1 in 8 women will face breast cancer in their lifetime, nearly 700,000 people have experienced a diagnosis and over 50,000 women are diagnosed each year - the new brand means we're now able to reach many of these people.
